Gradient Health connects medical AI developers with the diverse, high-quality healthcare data needed to build better, more representative models. As part of our ongoing work together, we created the World Without Data campaign to give healthcare organisations a compelling reason to become part of that ecosystem.
Medical AI is only as representative as the data behind it. Yet much of the data available for model development comes from large academic medical centres and established research institutions, leaving many regional, community and non-academic populations underrepresented.
Gradient needed to engage a broader range of healthcare organisations, many of which were understandably cautious about data partnerships.
The challenge was to shift the conversation beyond the commercial value of data and demonstrate the bigger opportunity: how responsible data participation could improve representation, support better medical AI and ultimately benefit patients.
Evolene developed the World Without Data campaign, designed to make the consequences of limited and unrepresentative healthcare data explicit and showcase how data partnering is done in a secure way that doesn't add unnecessary complexity or risk.
The campaign explored what healthcare innovation would look like without access to sufficiently diverse real-world data, while positioning healthcare providers as active contributors to safer, more equitable medical AI. It then used a downloadable asset to dive deep into the intricacies of becoming a data partner, from data protection, to step by step guides on data transfer, and how partners get return on their investment.
We translated this narrative into an integrated suite of campaign assets, including:
Each asset was created to work both independently and as part of a connected engagement journey, helping Gradient attract attention, educate prospective data partners and create opportunities for direct commercial conversations.

The campaign generated strong engagement and lead volume in the build-up to RSNA, giving Gradient a clear and differentiated platform through which to engage prospective healthcare data partners.
It also created a library of reusable assets that continue to support ongoing outreach, education and business development.
Since the campaign, Gradient’s available data has continued to grow rapidly, strengthening its ability to provide medical AI developers with more representative datasets drawn from a broader range of healthcare environments.
The campaign helped shift the data partnership conversation from what institutions were being asked to provide to what their participation could make possible for patients.
